This is a 0.5kg 1.75mm roll of PVA filament as made by Flashforge. This material is water soluble, making it absolutely invaluable as a support structure for 3D printers that work with multiple materials. Simply use this filament as the support material when printing an incredibly complicated 3D object, then place the object in water for 24 hours while occasionally agitating it to have the support structures simply melt away!
PVA filament works very well with lower temperature materials, as it naturally wants to print with a nozzle between 190 and 220 degrees, as well has being happy to work without a heated bed. PVA will very easily bake if left too long at a high temperature, so at the Superstore we’ve found it incredibly important that whatever nozzle it is loaded into semi-unloads itself whenever the PVA is not in use. Often this can be achieved by setting the retraction to a very high value (not so high as to have it retract past the extruder gear, which would make re-loading impossible).
PVA likes to absorb the water in it’s environment, like, a lot. Once a PVA roll is opened, either the PVA needs to be used quickly, or when not in use, it should be stored in a plastic resealable bag (or other airtight environment) with the silica gel sachet that came with the roll initially to ensure the filament will last a long time in storage.
These spools will fit on nearly every 3D printer, having a large inner spool diameter, while still being quite thin and petite. We have yet to find a printer it doesn't happily sit in.
These filaments will work well with any printer that takes 1.75mm. They might however require an external spool holder if they do not fit on the spool holder that comes with the printer.
This is a new-upgraded formulation engineered by Flashforge helps to minimize filament problems such as curling and bubbles during printing. The new anti-moisture ingredients included in this formulation permits longer storage time without loss of quality.
More precise and stable
Flashforge's new filaments have passed through high-precision laser diameter measuring test, guaranteeing stability of filament diameter, ensuring that the filament doesn't get stuck or slip during printing.
Durable for storage - better to use
Flashforge's new filament series has a damp-proof and anti-cracking formula applied to the filament in production, lengthening the storage time when not using the material. This lets you use all your filament, no matter how long it's in storage.
New process - higher pureness
Flashforge's new filament series is made up of a new formula, which is mixed and produced in a controlled and dust free workshop, preventing any possibility of dust mixing as common with cheaper brands, letting us say goodbye to needless extruder blocking
