Qidi Tech TPU-Aero: The Future of Flexible 3D Printing is Here

Step into a new dimension of creative freedom with the revolutionary Qidi Tech TPU-Aero. More than just another flexible filament, TPU-Aero is an engineering-grade material designed to be over 50% lighter than standard TPU. Its unique foaming technology allows you to print with incredible speed, precision, and a stunning matte, fabric-like finish that will set your creations apart.

Adjustable weight and hardness

The hardness can be accurately tailored between 85A and 65A by fine-tuning the temperature, flow rate, or fill density, enabling diverse and distinctive printing results.

Whether you're prototyping for aerospace, designing next-generation sporting equipment, or creating complex, resilient models, TPU-Aero delivers unparalleled performance without compromise.

Why Choose Qidi Tech TPU-Aero?

  • Feather-Light Strength: By harnessing advanced foaming technology, TPU-Aero achieves a remarkable reduction in weight. This makes it the ultimate choice for projects where every gram counts, such as drone parts, robotics, and performance-critical prototypes.
  • Adjustable Hardness & Density: Gain unprecedented control over your prints. By simply adjusting the printing temperature, you can modify the filament's foaming ratio. This allows you to fine-tune the material's hardness from a semi-rigid 85A down to a highly flexible 65A, all from a single spool!
  • Incredible Resilience & Toughness: Don't let its light weight fool you. TPU-Aero boasts exceptional deformation recovery and tear resistance. It's built to withstand repeated stress, impacts, and extreme conditions, ensuring your prints are as durable as they are innovative.
  • Stunning Matte Fabric Texture: Move beyond the glossy plastic look. TPU-Aero produces a premium, low-gloss matte finish with a sophisticated fabric-like texture, giving your prints a professional, high-end appearance straight off the build plate.
  • Low Water Absorption: Print with confidence in any environment. This filament is engineered for low moisture absorption, ensuring stable performance and preventing warping or degradation, even in humid Australian climates.

Printing & Storage Tips

  • TPU filaments are hygroscopic (they absorb moisture). For best results, dry the filament before use and store it in a sealed container with desiccant.
  • It is recommended to put the filaments in a 70-80°C oven for 4-6 hours before printing to avoid problems such as bubbles, holes or drawing caused by moisture.
  • To minimise stringing, it's recommended to disable retraction in your slicer settings and print one model at a time.
  • Due to the continuous expansion of the foaming material in the hot end cavity, leakage is inevitable during the stroke movement. Even adjusting the retraction distance and speed cannot improve this situation. It is recommended to disable the retraction function in the slicing software, print only one model at a time, or use the piece-by-piece printing function, and turn on the option to avoid crossing the outer wall to reduce drawing and leakage caused by long-distance idling and jumping.
  • TPU-Aero is compatible with most FDM 3D printers and works well with PEI, PC, or glass build plates (with an adhesive).
  • Some of PEI textured or PEI film build plates may exhibit excessive adhesion to TPU materials, making printed parts difficult to remove. It is recommended to use alcohol to remove the parts.
